One mat, the whole family

Saturday is the only class on the schedule where age doesn't split the room. Kids from the youth program, teens, parents and adult members learn the same technique, then partner up by size and experience.

For parents, it's a way to learn what your kid is learning and to train together instead of watching from the chairs. For adults with busy weeknights, it's a longer 90-minute session that fits a Saturday morning.

Partners are matched with care, so a six-year-old isn't paired with a grown adult for live rounds. Adults and teens 16 and up can take kickboxing at 10:00 AM and stay for jiu-jitsu at 11.

How a class runs

  1. Warm-up

Movement games and drills that work for every age.

  2. Technique

One position taught so a first-grader and a parent can both follow it.

  3. Partner drilling

Pairs matched by size and experience.

  4. Rounds

Live rounds grouped by age and size, with coaches watching every pair.

Saturday All-Ages questions

How young can kids join the Saturday class?

Kids from 5 up, the same starting age as the kids program.

Do I have to train with my own child?

No. Parents often do, but you'll be paired with whoever makes sense for that day's technique and rounds.

Is it okay for beginners?

Yes. The class is all levels, and it's a relaxed way for a new family to start together.

Can I watch instead of training?

Yes. There are chairs along the side of the mat, and a kids' play area for siblings.
